Configure the connection
Choose HTTPS download, SFTP, or use the one-time upload area. HTTPS supports no authentication, HTTP Basic credentials, or a bearer token. SFTP requires the hostname, port, absolute remote path, username, password, and the server SHA-256 host-key fingerprint.
Confirm an SFTP fingerprint with the provider through a trusted channel, save the settings, and use Test saved SFTP connection before importing. The test verifies identity, login, path, readability, and size without importing inventory.
Choose stable vehicle identity
Give the connection a permanent Source identifier such as main-inventory. Then map External ID to a provider vehicle ID whenever possible, VIN as a good fallback, or a disciplined non-reused stock number.
Vehicle identity = Source identifier + External IDDo not use price, title, or row number. Changing the Source identifier after an import makes every record appear to come from a different feed.
Map fields and save a preset
Enter exact, case-sensitive CSV headers or flattened XML paths for the fields LotPress should own. Typical destinations include VIN, stock number, year, make, model, trim, body style, condition, price, mileage, status, description, specifications, features, and photo URLs.
Join several source columns with ||, for example image_link||additional_image_link. Save reusable mapping presets when several sites or feeds share a format. Exported presets exclude URLs, credentials, Source identifiers, and inventory data.
